Today is the release day of the November Update for Xbox one. We know they are monthly but this one is a little extra special than previous updates, because this is the one where your Xbox one will start to be able to play Xbox 360 games. Starting with Approximately 100 games from the Xbox 360 back catalogue each month more games will be added to the list of backwards compatible games. Here is the list of the current backwards compatible games
Also every free game for the Xbox 360 released as part of the free games with gold program will compatible with the Xbox One. This means that Xbox one owner with an Xbox live Gold subscription will get free Xbox One games and be able to play the Free Xbox 360 games. Double the free games and double the discounts with the Deals with Gold program. Cant be bad.
Of course the backwards compatibility isn’t the only feature in this months update.
New Xbox One Experience – The Core of Windows 10 has been introduced into the Xbox One console and while the changes on the home screen may look superficial, it will allow you to get to where you need to go faster. New side menus for quick access, Instantly start a party, connect with friends and see notifications from recently played games with no waiting.
New Guide and New Community Areas – Access loads of features from the guide, like party, messages, system settings, notifications and more without having to leave your game. The new community area will allow you to see what’s trending on Xbox Live and interact like social media, liking and sharing. scroll through the activity feed to see the latest news and see what your friends are liking
Redesigned Home, OneGuide, and Store areas

- OneGuide: See what’s trending on live TV in the Xbox Live community in OneGuide. Browse for live TV listings with picture-in-picture, so you don’t miss what’s happening in your show. With app channels, quickly find something to watch from your favorite video apps—all in one place.
- Store: The Store expands to four easy-to-explore areas—Games, Movies & TV, Apps, and Music. The new vertical gallery view brings more listings at a glance. Browse through intuitive categories like Featured Staff picks, New Releases, Top Played, Top Rated, Coming Soon, and Recommendations to discover new games and other content.
Updated Game Hubs – One click access to each games, game hub directly from the home screen. See what your friends are playing and access news and updates directly from the community and the developers, plus compare gamerscore, achievements, and other game stats with your friends.
If your console is set to auto-update, your new version should be ready for your now (depending on region), if its in power saving mode, then log in to your Xbox go to settings and console and select update console.
