Minecraft is set to go into version version 1.5 with the latest patch and a whole list of improvements and enhancements have been announced. The patch has been codenamed "Redstone" and has the followinmg list of changes

  • Improved UI for mobs
  • Mobs can no loner walk over rails unless they are after you
  • Improved Inventory system
  • changes to death messages to include cause of death, items used to kill you and who did it
  • lots of bug fixes
  • New Texture packs
  • Game now allows animated texture packs
  • Scoreboard system to track kills, deaths and commands
