Nvidia has moved on from the Geforce 7 series and moved rather unsurprisingly onto the Geforce 8 series. The initial release of this series has two graphics cards. The Geforce 8800 GTX and the Geforce 8800 GTS. These two graphics cards are the first to support the new DirectX version 10. The Geforce 8800 GTX is the big brother and can out perform any other card on the market at time of release. This is partially to do with the increased clock and memory speeds but also has a lot to do with the new technologies involved. Pixel and vertex shaders have been unified and are now under the name of Stream processors. This efficient design looks like being the future of graphics card design
