875P NEO-FIS2R
Featuring
the Intel 875P chipset MSI have the
NEO-FIS2R. This motherboard features AGP 8x
port, 4 DIMM slots supporting DDR
266/333/*400. This is the first chipset
from Intel to introduce Dual channel DDR
memory, this effectively doubles the already
doubled DDR memory. This is required in order
to keep up with a chipset capable of running
at 800Mhz. The 4 DIMM slots really give you
chance to create a super machine with a large
vault of RAM. Most motherboards in the same
series really feature a lot of the same
technologies. MSI has not been left behind
here as it sports all the latest features such
as S-ATA with RAID capable of supporting upto
4 S-ATA devices and 3 IEEE1394 ports. Also
features onboard gigabit LAN and 6 channel
audio.
Motherboard Features

AGP 8x
Firstly it has AGP 8x support so you can fully
utilize those latest graphics cards such as
the
Geforce FX and the
Radeon 9800. This provides an AGP bus
bandwidth of 2.1Gb/s instead of the 1.1Gb/s
provided with the AGP 4x specification. With
more and more complex textures coming into
games the AGP bus speed is getting more and
more important all the time as On-Card memory
is not large enough to handle everything.
DDR400
The current fastest
memory available DDR400. DDR400 also known as
PC3200. DDR400 provides a 200Mhz*2 memory
system. Remember the days of PC100. In
order to use the DDR400 memory you will need a
CPU that supports Intel's 800Mhz FSB.
USB 2.0
USB 2.0 is up to 40 times faster than the
standard USB1.1 ports. This is great news if
you are using external Hard Disks CD-Drives or
scanning large pictures on a USB scanner. with
480Mbs transfer rate there will be no slow
down is your USB transmission.
Serial ATA Controller
Serial ATA is the new way of connecting your
Hard drives to your Motherboard. The current
Serial ATA specification is ATA-150 (150Mb/s).
The MSI NEO-FIS2R supports 2 S-ATA devices and
has the ability of
RAID 0. It also has the Promise 20378
controller which allows 2 more S-ATA devices.
The S-ATA devices connected to this controller
will be able to use
RAID 0, 1 and 0+1

Due to the High Performance Memory design, motherboards or system
configurations may or may not operate smoothly at the JEDEC (Joint
Electron Device Engineering Council) standard settings (BIOS Default
on the motherboard) such as DDR voltage, memory speeds and memory
timing. Please confirm and adjust your memory setting in the BIOS
accordingly for better system stability.

HyperX DDR500 PC4000 operates at 2.65V, 3-4-4-8, CL=3.
