LG Flatron L1710B 17" TFT

As technology moves forward we must move with it. Flat Panel monitors are highly sort after pieces of equipment for your PC. The LG L1710B brings an affordable LCD solution to your desktop without compromising on quality. This 17" screen would in the past have cost you more than the rest of your PC but now LG gives you great value. The great thing about flat panel screens is the small casing, virtually everything you see is screen. The casing round the edges measures at just 15mm at the sides and only slightly more at the top and bottom in order to accommodate the function buttons. The L1710B hides away the unsightly power supply box in the stand removing even more clutter from the desktop. All in all this is one of the best TFT screens to buy if you are thinking of moving up from your older CRT monitor.

More and more people are looking to upgrade to an LCD solution. The Price normally puts people off. However since the release of more and more flat screen monitors and the fact that new PC's are more likely to come with a flat screen rather than a CRT monitor, then the manufacturers can afford to start selling them a little cheaper. This also means you can have them a little cheaper without the loss of quality. Bring on the LG L1710 17" TFT monitor and that tells the story. A quality TFT screen at an affordable price.

The LG1710B comes with both a standard analogue connector and a DVI (Digital Visual Interface) connector for the best digital to digital connection between your PC and the monitor. It comes in a silky silver finish with a stand and looks at home on any desktop. A nice Tidy feature of this LG model is the way it conceals the power supply unit in the stand. This removes clutter from the desktop and makes the already slim flat screen design even more compact.

The LG L1710B comes with an integrated USB hum so you can connect those USB devices to your PC with ease and without having to go routing round the back of your PC. Perfect for connecting items such as digital camera's that you only connect to your PC from time to time.

The maximum resolution for the screen is 1280 x 1024 pixels, this is a decent size for a 17" monitor. It is advised to run at a fairly high resolution as LCD screen do not look so good when run in a low resolution mode. The LG 1710B has a DVI interface for a better quality signal (please make sure that your video card has this output before buying)

    Notice about LCD displays

LCD screens are made up of thousands of tiny pixels each of these pixels contains three sub pixels of red green and blue. Giving your TFT screen millions of dots in total. behind each one is a transistor. When one of these transistors fails its stays as a permanent light dark or coloured dot on your screen. Because of the nature of LCD screens it is near impossible to have a screen without a few of these failures.

This is why LCD monitor manufacturers have a tolerance level for this. Should your screen have more transistor failures than the tolerance level the manufacturer will accept the monitor back as a failed device. The number of stuck pixels required before the manufacturer will take the screen back does vary between company to company so we do advise checking on this before making your final decision on an LCD monitor.
