Printing

The Printer uses 4 colour cartridges and an optimised printing resolution of 5760dpi. It uses a technology known as RPM (Resolution Performance Management). This gives the printer the ability to produce crisp true colour photographs. Easy to use software and drivers give you complete control of your printing, your photo's and your documents. It also saves you money as you don't have to replace all the colours when just one has run out. You just need to replace the colour that has run out.

Copying

The Epson CX5400 can be used as a stand alone copier. Basically this means that you can use it like you would a photocopier at work. You don't need the PC to be on in order to make copies. This gives the CX5400 that extra bit of versatility. It can also produce high quality colour photocopies. Not many of you will have a colour photocopier at your disposal so this may well be a new and exciting experience. Perfect for your work or your kids school work. With up to 15 black and white copies per minute, this printer is fairly nippy. Plus up to 5 pages per minute in colour.

Scanning

The scanner can often be underrated however its value can be seen when for instance you want to get those classic family photos put on to your computer to keep them safe on disk or you need to get some material onto a website from a paper or book. You may even be typing up a project and need images on screen rather than on paper. A true colour scanner like the one with the CX5400 with give you great results in full colour scanning. It is a flatbed A4 scanner. Which will scan your image in a single pass. The scanner has the function to send your image as a fax or an e-mail straight from the machine. You can use it as if it was a fax machine.

Scanning is of a good speed, but is limited to A4. This is obviously because its designed to be a small printer. And as the whole machine is built around the flatbed scanner, its unlikely it was going to be any bigger. To help you though lid of the flatbed scanner does come off to help you if you are scanning think books or magazines etc.

The scanner features OCR (Optical Character Recognition) This is a wonderful little feature which can scan a page of text and present it on screen as editable text rather than an image. The scanner literally reads the document and allows you to use the text as if you had just typed it all out yourself.
