networks. |

Windows |
An Operating system created by Microsoft - Windows
brought the Graphical interface to the PC
in a big way. Before this people were using text based OS's such
as DOS to complete there tasks. With
windows came the very important feature of multitasking. Windows
moved the PC forward by making it easier to use and more fun to
use. Using the mouse instead of the keyboard was a big hit.
Windows is now the most widely used OS in

Wake on LAN - The ability for your
computer to wake from a "standby" or "sleep"
mode by a request from the LAN. |

World Wide Web - A media based system for
browsing Internet sites. It allows users, with the aid of internet
browsers, to travel from site to site with the aid of hyperlinks. |
