The RX700 is
currently the flagship multifunction printer on the market from Epson.
The Epson RX700 has advanced printing technologies to give premium
results on both documents and photo's. Also the Superb scanning of the
RX700 allows for instant photo copying of fantastic quality as well as
restoring old photo's and enhancing your current library of photo's by
making digital backups. You can also scan negative film and enlarge so
you can make photo's from old negative films. And just as an added bonus
you can even print on optical discs such as CD's and DVD's (printable
discs required).
The RX700 can be used as a stand alone copier, so you can get great copies of documents or photo's without the need to have a PC. Or if the RX700 is hooked up to PC, you don't need to have it switched on in order for it to work. This is also true for printing straight from memory cards or cameras. The LCD screen shows you what you are printing and all the setting can be altered on the control panel of the RX700. The Scanner produces superb detail with its 3200 x 6400 dpi detail, much higher resolution than that of the other models in the range.
The Epson Stylus RX700 uses two separate paper trays, one in the front and one in the back. These selectable paper trays make life a little easier when you need to switch between media types when printing. Keep standard paper in tray one and photo paper in tray two for example. The ink system is a 6 ink separate system with an additional light cyan and light magenta to the usual 4 colours to improve the quality of photo prints.
There is no fax feature in the RX700 like in some other models but the RX700 is crammed with features its hard to fit it all in. I'm afraid however if a fax feature is required then you will have to look elsewhere. If printing quality is what your after then the RX700 will provide as one of the best All in one printers on the market. Like some of the other multifunction devices in this series, the RX700 is not the quickest of machines, but takes its time to produce quality results.
