Something we haven't seen for a short while in Epson products is an integrated fax machine in there multifunction printers. The DX7000F multifunction printer adds the fax capability onto a machine aimed at the mainstream market. The use of the fax machine may have seen a decline in the recent years but its certainly not extinct. If you looking for a printer with fax capabilities then the Epson DX7000F can come recommended especially at the price tag of just over £100 at time of writing.

Apart from the fax machine built in the DX7000F is very similar to the DX6000 in terms of specifications. One unfortunate difference is the lack on LCD viewer which has been replaced with a two line LCD text display to inform you what's going on. Separate inks, as is standard now in most Epson printers. The DX7000F uses the Durabright ink set from Epsons labs, which allows for a brighter and bolder picture as well as a non smudge quick drying print which can last for up to 100 years in the right conditions.

Within the software package you will receive ABBYY Fine Reader OCR (optical character recognition). This great piece of software will allow you to scan text documents and books etc and turn them into editable text on your PC. Highly useful software especially when bundled in the package for free. You will also receive Epson Creativity Suite and Epson Easy Photo Print.

The DX7000F has the following reported print speeds.

Black text - 27 pages per minute
Colour Text - 27 pages per minute
15x10 photo - approx 29 seconds
