Less than a year ago Epson released two multifunction Printers aimed at the mainstream market and at people who wanted to have the printer copier and scanner but on a budget. The two printers were the DX3800 and the DX4800. These printers proved to be very popular and Epson has since released updates to this range. Three new multifunction printers along the same lines. Firstly we have the DX6000 for this review. The DX6000 is the top of this new range and has one or two extra things that you wont find on the lesser models. The two models below are the DX5000 and the DX4000.

So what does the Epson stylus DX6000 offer you? Firstly even though this is the top model of this new range the price is very reasonable at around £80 at time of writing. Remember your getting a printer, scanner and photocopier for this price. The DX6000 does have an LCD viewer to allow you to view your images and photos before printing them off. This also helps when you are printing directly without a PC to see the image on. Obviously then the DX6000 comes with the ability to directly print images from compatible memory cards and from and digital camera that has PictBridge technology.

The quality of the prints from the DX6000 is very high considering the price of this multifunction printer, The DX6000 uses Epson Durabright inks, which are designed to dry instantly, be waterproof and smudge proof and should last for up to 100 years depending on the storage of the photo. There is a 4 separate ink system used in the DX6000. Separate ink cartridges for each colour is more economical because you only have to change the one ink at time, which ever runs out first. Unfortunately this saving can be taken away by the DX6000 being quite heavy on ink usage. But weighing it up the great colour it produces is probably worth it.

Black text - 27 pages per minute
Colour Text - 27 pages per minute
15x10 photo - approx 28 seconds
