The Epson Stylus photo R265 inkjet printer is aimed at the home photo printing market. The Price is very reasonable for a photo printer with a 6 colour separate ink system. the extra light cyan and light magenta cartridges help to get  more realistic and vibrant colour when printing photos. The R265 ha the ability to print onto compatible CD's and DVD's directly by simply inserting the disc into the provided slot and setting the software to CD printing.

The design of the R265 is a little on the bulky side. It looks a little like a multifunction style printer but without the flatbed scanner inside. But if space is not an issue then the R265 performs well for its price range. It comes in black and silver colours which are a little more stylish than the cream printers in our view. The front panel again looks like its from a multifunction printer design as the lowered part looks like it should have numerous buttons and controls on the front, when in actual fact the Epson R265 only has the 3 silver buttons on that panel. One for power, one for ink cartridge changing and one for page eject.

Quoted print speeds by Epson are quite impressive at 30 pages per minute although these are as always on the fastest settings with a small amount of page coverage. But as everyone uses the same when giving out print speeds, the figures do look rather impressive. The R265 is one of the printers by Epson that uses the Claria ink system for superb smudge and water resistant prints designed to last even longer than any other ink sets in existence.

Epsons software bundle has always been impressive, while no different software is included the same high quality programs are available with the R265. Epson Web-to-Page is an excellent piece of software that helps when printing web pages, normally the right hand side of web pages goes missing, but web-to-page makes sure you get the whole of the page every time. Epson Easy Photo Print allows you to customise your photo layouts to the get  most of the printer. Size your photos, even put more than one photo on to a single page with ease.
