Despite this the Drive scores well in read and write tests. Samsung claim between 15% and 50% less power usage than a standard model with equal capacity depending on load.

The Samsung EcoGreen F2 uses a S-ATA II connection at 3Gbits/s for quick access and read times. Its also one of Samsungs quietest drives due to its NoiseGuard™ feature which cuts down on the causes of vibration which causes undesirable noise in your PC. The 1.5TB Capacity on the Samsung EcoGreen F2 is made up from three disc platters each holding a capacity of 500GB. Modern Hard Drives have recording heads on both sides of the platter, so 6 read/write heads are used in this model.

Samsung's HD154UI comes with a sizeable 32 MB buffer memory for extreme comfort of use, as well as EcoTriangle technology to reduce power consumption and acoustic noise. It has a large tray for discs and consumes between 15-50% less electricity than a standard model with an equivalent capacity.  The HD154UI requires roughly 5 to 6 Watts to operate and 0.5 Watts in stand-by mode.
