Many console users who love football management games, often envy the PC users because of the success of the Championship manager series. I doubt very much as if that will ever come to the console scene, however we do have LMA manager 2004. LMA manager 2004 is for the Playstation 2 and Xbox so lets have a look at what this game has to offer the humble console user.

The thing that you will hit you straight away while playing the game is that there is a great 3D engine to watch. Championship manager players will know that they are stuck with a 2D highlights option only. LMA manager makes use of the consoles in that respect, however as with all console footy management games, its not as in depth as Championship manager is.

The opening screen gives you a few options to take on., The first is a standard game, you pick your side and try to take your team to the top, with all your management skills. The second option is a fantasy team mode. In this game you will be asked to pick a division. You will then be in charge of a fantasy team in that division. The excellent part of this game is that you will be given a budget depending on the division you have chosen and you can have any players you like up to that budget. Its then your choice to pick what you think is the ultimate side. It is a big game of fantasy football where you are in charge. The third game option is an expert mode. This time the players have only the stats and no overall rating and you have to have a keen eye on the progress of your players as you have to weigh up the pros and cons of the players yourself. This is more like a championship manager game this time.

LMA Manager 2004 features more modes and more stats for the players than the 2003 version. Added to the stats are dribbling, positioning, forward runs and form. Plus more. Other tweaks have been put in as well like being able to apply for management jobs during the course of the season and you are no longer able to apply for bank loans. Instead you have to request extra funds from the board of directors (always scary)

LMA manager includes all the transfers upto January 2004.
