Forza Motorsport 2 is one of those games that is set to be a benchmark on its console. That console of course being the Xbox 360, and with Forza 2 being created by Microsoft, this game should work flawlessly on the Xbox 360. And that it does. Of course that doesn't make it a great game, but what's inside the racing game certainly does. Whether you like your racing games simulation style or arcade still, you will find something in Forza Motorsport 2 that is to your liking. With a scalable difficulty interface and ways to set the driving style the way you like it (braking assist, traction control etc). You can ultimately get the driving experience that you want. Also brought in from the original Forza Motorsport is the driving assist that puts coloured arrows on the track in order to tell you how to best drive on the track. Green to accelerate, Yellow to slow down and red to brake. Once you feel comfortable with the track, switch these off and go it alone. Add on top of that over 300 different cars to race from 50 manufacturers from road cars to the top of the range super cars. Plus a whole host of parts and upgrades to choose from. Each of the cars feeling that bit different as there different weights, sizes and power force you to take a different approach to the tracks with each car you drive. Forza Motorsport 2 has 18 large tracks but has multiple variations of each to give you more variety. several of the tracks are real world tracks including the world famous Nurburgring. Now if your looking for something a little more in depth then Forza Motorsport 2 has something just for you. While you are driving you can bring up a list of menu's that will tell you a whole host of information from your car damage to your tyre temperatures. There is also loads of telemetry readings that will mean nothing to the casual player but for those of you that know how to read it, its valuable performance statistics to get you those extra few 100ths of a second. Again this is where Forza Motorsport 2 is at its best. Its a pickup and play game that can be taken as far as you feel like taking it.
Lap the competition with truly next-generation features. Made
possible by the power of Xbox 360, “Forza Motorsport 2” burns rubber at
60 fps with 4x full-screen anti-aliasing, motion blur, and
high-dynamic-range lighting in crisp 720p high-definition glory. And you
can feel every nuance of your car and the road thanks to support for the
official Xbox 360 Wireless Racing Wheel.
