>> Need for Speed : Underground
Need for Speed underground takes you to thrill of street racing. A game that seems to have been inspired by the fast and the furious films. You take control of your personal car and prepare to race through the busy streets to be crowned as the ultimate underground street racer. There are 20 licensed cars to choose from including cars from Toyota, Mitsubishi and Subaru. As you would expect from street racing, you are able to heavily modify your car to the way you like it. You can change your body kit as well as get performance enhancing parts from licensed manufacturers. You can purchase turbo charge, better engines, brakes and even some Nitro oxide boosts plus many more During the game you can experience races, circuit timings, drag races and drift racing, where you will be placed on a slick course with very tight turns to negotiate. The main section of the game is your career mode. In this mode you will begin to compete on all the selected tracks, building up your car as you go. You will find 3 difficulty settings, easy mode is well very easy, normal will not keep regular driving game fans on it for long but the difficult setting puts up a decent challenge for you to play against. There is also a multiplayer aspect to this game. All the console versions of the game allow you to use split screen to race head to head with a friend. The PC and PS2 versions allow to use online play for upto 4 people at a time. A nice feature here is that regardless of whether you have the PC or Playstation 2 version of the game you can race against each other. This is the first time I have seen cross platform online play and its a nice inclusion to get the community together. Nice graphics as well make it a good package, only a
slight let down is that some of the tracks are used too repetitively and
so you can find find yourself racing on the same piece of road quite a few
times. If you are into car modifications yourself you will certainly like
this game, it goes way further into this aspect than anything else that
has been released do far. (Click pics to enlarge) Features |
