Lord of the Rings - The Return of the King

The Final of the Lord of the Ring series of games and also the best. This game can be described as entertainment but better described as an experience. You have the choice of 5 of the main characters from the film to play with and there are 3 unlockable characters in the game as well. You will find that cinematics from the film and entrance scenes and the like will add to the overall feel of this game.

On entering the game for the first time you will immediately see what pace the game sets for you as you are pushed into an immediate furious battle directly from the opening cut scene. This pace stays throughout the game and while some people may find the constant battling a little annoying, most of us will like the pace of the game which undoubtedly keeps your hands gripped to the controller. Unfortunately another reason for keeping the controller in your hand is the fact that you cant save the game in the middle of a level. Your choices are finish the level which can take some time in a number of cases or resign to starting at the beginning of the level again next time.

Not to be missed if you are a fan of the film, not to be missed if you don't like the film. Lord of the Rings - The Return of the King amazes you from the start even if you are not truly into it you may put it down after a few weeks because of the difficulty of the game. The beat 'em up battle do get quite difficult and fast paced and if your not up to speed with it, you may well quit for reasons of not wanting to do the same battle again and again. I would bet you my well pick it up again later though.
