You could say that The Legend of Zelda - Twilight Princess is about breathing new life into an old game. Zelda has moved to the new Nintendo Wii and with it the radical new controls of the Wii remote. Firstly this is a Nintendo GameCube game ported to the Nintendo Wii. The controls have been changed to use the Wii Remote which is where the new life of this game comes in. While using new controls can feel weird for a while, after a few hours of play you may wonder how you managed to do without it. Because Legend of Zelda - Twilight Princess has been released on the GameCube beforehand, the main differences are in the controls. Targeting, moving, Sword controls Etc. A prime example of when the Wii Remote brings this Zelda game to life is the fishing sequences. While holding your 2 remote controls. you pick up your rod and flick your wrist to send out the line. To add to the realism your remote makes a gentle whirring noise as your reel lets out the line and then plop as your bob hits the water. Now tease the line near a fish and wait for a bite. Once your fish bites you will find yourself lift one remote to hook the fish and the other in a winding motion to reel it in. Its at times like this when you find yourself in the game rather than simply playing it. The sword play is just as much fun, slashing your way through enemies has never been as satisfying as this. Maybe because its really you that's swinging and doing the damage. Then we have the other side. The bow and arrow for example can get a little tedious as you need to have the Wii remote pointing constantly at the screen to aim. Sometimes you will need to be aiming at the screen for a while just in case something pops out at you. This can get very tiring very quickly. You simply can't just rest your arm because because finding your aim again quickly can prove to be far too tricky. The game's story can feel a little too familiar at times, with certain scenes leaving you with a sense of "deja vu" from previous Zelda games. Some say its all the good bits of Zelda in one package. I have read a review of this game where it is described as "Zelda's Greatest Hits" which sort of says it all. The Legend of Zelda - Twilight Princess is definitely worth buying for the Wii even if you simply have fun with the new Wii controls for this game.
