While the word processor and the spreadsheets are the most used parts of an office suite, open office comes with much more than that.
As you would expect from an office suite, Open Office is more than just a spreadsheet and a word processor. With portable open office you also get a database called Base, a drawing application called Draw and a presentation package along the lines of Microsoft PowerPoint called Impress. On top of that you also get a scientific calculator called Calc. All of these applications resemble in some way their Microsoft Counterparts by offering the same functionality.
Add to all this the fact you have an HTML editor, FTP client and a portable Web browser and you have pretty much everything you need to have your work computer with you in a simply USB Flash Drive.
These days I always have my USB Flash Drive with me just in case I need to use something or I get an idea that I wish to get down onto PantherProducts before I forget it. I can't always carry my laptop computer around with me but I am usually close to a computer that has a USB port. By having your USB Flash Drive containing everything you need any computer can become the main computer you work from.
