Calc - Portable Spreadsheet

Open Offices Spreadsheet application is called Calc. Nice app name for a spreadsheet :). Calc is a fully functional spreadsheet and will do everything you will need from a spreadsheet. Comparing it to Microsoft Excel you will notice the similarities. The layout is much the same, there are tabbed sheets at the bottom which you can link together with formulas if needed. Cells can be easily set up to contain figures, currency percentages and others by buttons in the toolbars at the top.

Most of use spreadsheets for basic tasks, adding up figures automatically so no mistakes are made, keeping accounts or analysing statistics. Open Office Calc is more than capable of handling these tasks and with the added advantage of fitting on a USB Flash Drive. Take your spreadsheets and the capability to create and edit your spreadsheets with you. If you come across new information you no longer have to wait till you get home to add or edit your spreadsheets. We do keep coming back to these points about being able to take your programs with you but its important that these benefits be put across.

Just like Open Offices Writer. Calc has the ability to open and save Microsoft Excel files. This shows you just how close the two programs can be. The only thing that I can see that may be a disadvantage with the open office suite is that the Microsoft office packages are very deep when interlinking with other.
